About This Tool

App Store prices can vary significantly between countries and regions. The same app might cost $4.99 in the US but the equivalent of $3.20 in another country after currency conversion. Tax policies, exchange rate fluctuations, and Apple’s tiered pricing system all contribute to these regional price differences.

Our Price Compare tool queries the Apple iTunes Search API across 9 major App Store regions — including China, United States, Japan, Hong Kong, United Kingdom, Korea, and others — and auto-converts all prices to Chinese Yuan (CNY) using live exchange rates. The lowest price is highlighted with a badge so you can spot the best deal at a glance.

To use it, type an app name (like "Procreate" or "GoodNotes"), an App Store Track ID (the number after "id" in the URL), or paste a full App Store link. The tool supports both lookup by ID and search by keyword. Results show the app icon, developer name, bundle ID, and a comparison table with prices for every supported region.

Tips: Use exact names for better matches. For apps with region-specific listings, try searching in the base country where the app is primarily distributed. Exchange rates update on each search — if you see unusual conversions, simply search again to refresh.

Pro Tips

  • Use Track ID for precision: every App Store app has a unique numeric ID in its URL. Search by ID to guarantee exact matches.
  • Compare before subscribing: annual subscriptions can be 30-50% cheaper in certain regions. Check before committing.
  • Watch currency trends: exchange rates fluctuate daily. Re-check prices before large purchases to catch favorable shifts.
  • Region lock awareness: some apps have region-specific versions with different features. Compare both versions before deciding.
  • Family sharing check: if an app supports Family Sharing, buying once covers up to 6 people — often cheaper than individual purchases in any region.

Why App Store cross-region prices need careful reading

The same app can use different price tiers, taxes, currencies, and promotions across countries and regions. A simple currency conversion does not always equal the final purchase cost, so Wolffy shows the original storefront price, approximate CNY value, and availability state together.

Where price differences come from

Apple pricing tiers, developer choices, exchange-rate adjustments, and local taxes can all change the displayed price. Some apps are unavailable in certain storefronts or offer different subscription plans.

How to read the lowest-price badge

The lowest-price marker only reflects the lowest approximate CNY value among currently queried public prices. It is not a purchase recommendation. Original currency values remain visible for manual verification.

When to use this tool

Use it to estimate price ranges, identify obvious regional differences, and confirm whether an App ID is listed in a storefront. For subscriptions and long-term services, also review IAP details and developer terms.
